Arkansas Highway 25: Wooster to Greenbrier

Join us for a quick but scenic ride through central Arkansas as we travel north for about 5 miles along Arkansas Highway 25, connecting the small community of Wooster to the larger town of Greenbrier. While short in distance, this route offers a glimpse of rural charm and subtle transitions from quiet farmland to the busier outskirts of a growing suburban town.

Our journey begins in Wooster, a small town nestled in Faulkner County, at the junction with Arkansas Highway 285. From here, AR-25 starts off as Reed Road, heading generally east. As we leave the center of Wooster behind, the route gently curves northeast just past Crystal Drive, marking the edge of town and the start of more open terrain. This stretch features rolling pastureland and clusters of trees typical of central Arkansas’s countryside—scenery that changes with the seasons but always provides a peaceful backdrop.

As we continue eastward, Arkansas Highway 25 shifts names to Green Valley Drive, and we gradually transition into the outer neighborhoods of Greenbrier. Residential developments begin to dot the landscape, along with a few commercial properties that signal we’re nearing town. The highway gently arcs to the northeast, providing a straight shot into the heart of Greenbrier, where we reach the route’s terminus at U.S. Route 65—a major north-south corridor through Arkansas.

Greenbrier itself is worth a stop if you’ve got the time. Once a quiet farming town, it’s become a bustling community with a growing population. The city offers parks, local eateries, and easy access to the Cadron Creek area for outdoor recreation. It’s also a common launching point for travelers heading toward Greers Ferry Lake or deeper into the Ozarks via the longer stretch of AR-25 to the northeast.

While the Wooster-to-Greenbrier segment is short, it serves as a connector between rural backroads and a major state highway. Whether you’re commuting, exploring, or just enjoying a Sunday drive, this five-mile jaunt is a smooth and scenic piece of Arkansas’s highway network.
